JIPMER signs MoU with Sri Aurobindo Society

As an international not-for-profit organisation of long standing, SAS has been working to bring change, empowerment, deeper values and excellence in various fields, in particular social, rural and health activities. SAS has been recognised by the Govt. of India as a charitable organisation, as a research institute carrying out research in the social sciences, and as an institution of importance throughout India. Activities of both can complement each other in fulfilling the common objectives of socio-economic and health development in the community, both urban and rural. The initial areas of collaboration which have been identified are:
Health related Community Development Programs in various villages of Pondicherry and adjoining Tamilnadu, and to work towards a sustainable, scalable and replicable model of Rural Public Health for India.
Health Education and public awareness programme through Community Radios.
Development and incorporation of Value based programmes and training in Soft skills for undergraduate medical students, and the medical fraternity.
Joint Collaborative research in specific areas which can be carried out after getting concurrence and clearance of JIPMER Scientific Society and Institute Ethics Committee.
Sri Aurobindo Society will contribute to JIPMERs Self Help Group Project by identifying volunteers for helping patients and their attendees in JIPMER.
In general to identify and take up collaborative programmes of mutual interest which help in the realization of our common objectives.
